This is the show’s 10th Anniversary and we are still growing in size and numbers. Since the show started we have given nearly £70,000 to various charities and local amenities, which is a fantastic sum of money. We would not be able to do this without the continued support from our sponsors, exhibitors, show and club committee members, helpers and you the general public -Thank you.
The show is again on the fields opposite the Recreation ground as it was a unqualified success last year and many visitors and exhibitors requested that it stay in the new location. This year we are open for longer, from 10.00am to 6.00pm which allows for an earlier start to the main ring attractions.
The main ring attractions this year include:
David Deptford of Sovereign Quarter Horses is giving an American Horse Riding Demonstration; Gun Dog display; Suffolk Punch logging demonstration; Country Dancing and Aerobics performed by Little Downham Primary School, Heel work to music. Back by popular request the Trials Stunt Bike Rider, Dog Agility demonstration, and Ferret Racing where the children can take part. Plus the Vintage Rally and much more (See the centre of the programme for times and locations)
New for 2008 is a Children’s Petting Zoo where the children can pick up and handle various small animals and reptiles. We have a separate Novelty Dog Show where you can enter your own dogs.
There is a Horse show, open to the Show visitors and close by a Clay Shoot where all can take part, even novices, as training will be available.
There is so much to do in this one day Show: children’s rides, games and entertainer, exhibits and displays, refreshments for all tastes, Beer Tent, Livestock Area with Pigs, Alpacas, Sheep, Goats, Ferrets, Chickens and much much more. Sue Marchant from BBC Radio Cambridgeshire will again be our compere.
This Show is all about keeping the theme Agricultural but the main objective is to raise as much money as we can for charity and local amenities. This year the main charities the Show is supporting are; The British Heart Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis and The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.
There will also be free disco in the evening and pay as you eat hot food.
And finally, thank you for your continued support and have a great day.
