CHARITIES BENEFIT FROM PYMOOR SHOW
Wednesday evening saw the final phase of the Pymoor Show 2008; the presentation of the cheques to the charities supported by the Show. The Show Committee were delighted to welcome the Chief Executive Officer of East Cambridgeshire District Council, Mr. John Hill, who presented the cheques to the representatives of the Charities. The nominated charities were The Cystic Fibrosis Trust, The British Heart Foundation and R.A.B.I. (The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution) who all received £2000. John Hill also presented a cheque for £500 to Pymoor Cricket and Social Club.
Also invited to the presentation were 2008 exhibitors, sponsors and supporters of the Show. Many guests remarked on how good it was to see the end product of all the hard work and effort put in by everyone. Rain dampened everyone’s spirits early on the morning of Show day, but still the spectators poured in. Their loyalty was rewarded when by lunchtime the sun came out for the rest of the day, which surely contributed to the largest and one of the most profitable Shows in its 10-year history.
The Committee wishes to thank everyone for their continued support. A note for your diaries, the 2009 Pymoor Show is on Saturday 4 th July in the same location as 2008.
